Gobs Team - Blood Bowl

Hum...I started to paint a little Blood Bowl goblin as a test...the goal was to build a team to play...it was in 2013...well! These last days I painted the following two...oh yeah! Nothing special about these figures ... just that I love these gobs who are almost as old as me and who are as funny to paint as to prepare! I hope not to wait so long before continuing this serie of quick and relaxing painting...

And the first three players waiting to be joined by their comrades ... to be walked on cheerfully!

See you...cheers!

Pirate bust sculpt - wip III

Some adds on my pirate bust...who is close to the end! I tried to finish details at this stage...and add some textures, the wear of the clothes and belt and to clean the overall. I wanted to try to make scars on his shoulder to show more precisely in what context this pirate evolves...and i'm quiet happy with the result. The last step will be to complete hairs, back of th scarf and gourd...see you soon for the end of this project!

Cheers!

Pirate bust sculpt - wip II

New step with my 1/12e pirate bust...after my first attempt and too tight bust volumes, here is the second version ... more muscular and more balanced. Now i'm quite happy with the overall volumes. Still some effort, retouches, details and I would arrive at the end...soon i hope! In any case, a lot of fun throughout this work with which I learn a lot. Thank for all your encouragement and constructive advices on facebook ... you are at the top!

Cheers!

Pirate bust sculpt - wip I

Today it's time for a little unpretentious thing...the start of a new sculpture project with this pirate face at something around 1/12 scale...a good exercise to progress on the difficult path of sculpture...I hope to be able to finish it without problems!

Hope you'll like it! Cheers!

Some works to come...

Well...today is a good day to show you some works which are going to occupy me these next times. I currently have number of miniatures i need to achieve...but...sometimes there is proposal which I cannot refuse. Ok..it isn't very reasonable for somebody who has just a little time for painting...but well...here we go!

The first one is a new character produced by Blacksmith Miniatures, a funny 54mm's goblin sulpted by Valentin Zak. This commission, the seventh for this company, promises a lot of pleasure and a real challenge to make something of well. The work is already well moved forward...a fast paintjob which aims at the efficiency. It is nice to play with strong contrasts of colors. This one should be ended quickly.

The second one is something different of what I'm doing usually...and a new project which I am delighted to begin! It's also a goblin...but much bigger. This one tried to ride a pig...you understood...it's the new realization of Leben Models sculpted bye Lucas Pina Penichet, a very talented sculptor. I received it at home on november 13th which is a special day for pigs in the region from which I come from. Thanks to Benoit for this nice gift...this collaboration on your range is a good opportunity to test some paint tricks on a buste...a big scale which I am not used to paint!

Some pictures to show you the sculpt ... and the incredible painting work done by Benoit...difficult to come later...but I look forward to! More pictures here on his website!

And my own one...ready to be prime...

In it will come to be added things to be finished...a dwarf started last year during our class with Martin in Lyon, a small 32mm Achille sculpted by Steve party for Maow Miniatures contest "dress a johnny", a Smart Max Miniatures for an exchange ( non...je n'ai pas oublié notre petit échange Yannick...je me suis juste perdu en route...mais ça devrais venir...pour cette année normalement! )...and probably the beginning of a new sculpture. I wish you all an happy new year...hope 2016 will be a good year for all of us...health and painting above all!

Viking sculpt WIP V

To summarize my article of the day ... I am very happy and a little depressed. Contradictory ... yes, probably a little. Very happy because I completed most of my project and I can go to the stage of cooking....a bit depressed...because of the cooking precisely! Not really a disaster, but not what I expected. Notes for later ...first of all...do not forget to clean the oven before cooking a miniature.
Secondly...sealing cracks (small but cracks anyway) will take me a little longer...and the "green" will not be as pretty as I wanted because of alterations...well...I learn!

I took these first pictures just before cooking...the sculpture is finished. It remains for me to do hands, shield and the sleeve...

The problems occurred when cooking are probably coming from the time taken to sculpt the figure...even with an adequate preservation ( with a glass jar) the putty was probably a bit old...there are cracks. All cracks were repaired with Milliput juices and nothing will be visible when painting or casting.

Some pictures of the current state...still a bit of work and it will be finished.

Hope you like it. See you soon!

Viking sculpt WIP IV

Slowly...but it takes shape. Today I wish to present the progress of my viking sculpt. Yes...it is still in WIP...but closer to the end...and that's a good thing! Well...this time I had a few problems in making choices. Indeed, I first dressed arms with long sleeves ... which was quite suitable for a Viking who goes to bed ... all looking very much like a pretty pajamas! So I changed lanes again and all for a more consistent result. Bare forearms and short sleeves seem more interesting to me in view of painting and provide more interesting volumes.

Overall, I am satisfied with all that takes shape...even if everything is not at the level of what I wanted. I still have to do some little things and clean some parts...but the principal is in place.

I hope you like it ... and that I would soon be back for the next step.

Cheers
